How can you become a Primary school teacher?
You need a qualification to become a primary school teacher.
You need
- to pass a numeracy test at NCEA Level 2 to enter degree or diploma study
- a bachelor's degree in primary teaching OR after completing a bachelor's degree, a graduate diploma in primary teaching, postgraduate diploma in primary teaching or master's degree in primary teaching
- an Annual Practising Certificate
- to pass a police check
If you're in school
You need University Entrance to do the study or training for this job, and NCEA Level 2 mathematics is strongly recommended.
