Self-catered accommodation means you can have independence, while enjoying the social side of university.
Explore our self-catered accommodation options for a flexible and independent living experience at the university. Self-catered accommodation is not available for school-leaver students.
Orchard Park cottages and studios
Orchard Park offers independent flatting with a social balance. Cottages feature a shared living, dining, kitchen and bathroom for four to six flatmates, whilst studios offer a private bathroom and a kitchen shared with five others.
Silverdale Road Apartments
Silverdale Road Apartments offer an independent lifestyle designed for post graduate and mature students who want the convenience of living close to campus. Each apartment has its own kitchen, bathroom and queen bed with a living/study space.
Knighton Road Apartments
These shared self-catered apartments offer furnished rooms with standard or ensuite options, fully equipped kitchens, laundry facilities and shared living spaces.
Bleakley Place Apartments
These studio apartments are within walking distance of local shops and the University of Waikato.

Self-catered blocks
We have a small number of self-catered blocks within Bryant Hall, Student Village and College Hall.
Bryant Hall
Bryant Hall is our smallest hall of residence on campus, and is a great option for students who want to live in a tight-knit community.
College Hall
College Hall is our second largest hall on campus, bringing an energetic environment that supports aspirational students in their academic and sporting pursuits.
Student Village
Student Village provides student with a unique experience, living in pods of six students rather than spread across blocks of 50-60 students.
