Hide or show sections and weeks

For staff on how to show or hide a section, week, activity, resource, or assessment in a Moodle paper.

You can hide specific Moodle sections or weeks from students. This may be useful for refining materials before release, managing the pace of course, or creating a private resource area for co-lecturers.

Hide a section or week

  1. At the top right-hand corner of your Moodle paper, toggle Edit mode on.

  2. Go to the week or section you want to hide, then at the far right of the section heading select the three vertical dots.

  3. From the dropdown menu, select Hide topic.

The entire week/section will be hidden from students and will appear to the teaching team as shown below.

Show a section or week

To make a hidden week or section visible, follow steps 1 and 2 above, then select Show topic from the dropdown menu.
