Pathways to university study for international students
The Waikato College (opens in a new tab) offers foundation, diploma and English language courses in Hamilton, designed for international students who don't yet meet university entry requirements for undergraduate or postgraduate study.
You'll get expert teaching, dedicated English language support, and a clear pathway into your degree, whether you're interested in science, business or computer science.
Once you complete your Waikato College course, you can progress straight into your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Waikato.

Waikato College international programmes
English language programmes
Waikato College offers English programmes to suit different needs. The Academic English programme enhances speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills, preparing you for university study. The General English programme, available for 3 weeks to 6 months, covers elementary to advanced levels with flexible scheduling.
Certificate of Attainment in Foundation Studies
(opens in a new tab)The Foundation Studies programme at Waikato College offers entry at three points during the year with five or eight/nine-month options. Courses are taught on the Hamilton campus with full access to university services. Compulsory subjects include English and Academic Essentials, with a range of electives available.
International Diploma (Business)
