This paper explores the evolving landscape of change management in the 21st century, focusing on wicked problems, contemporary challenges, trends, and practices. The paper will critically examine the impact of organisation changes on HR functions policies, and practices. Wicked problems, ethical focus on SDGs, new technologies, AI, geo-political arrangements, the urgency for environmental sustainability, pandemics, and ethical consumerism, and changing labour markets impact on the need to rethink the way business is conducted. Students will engage with theoretical and practical material to analyse the drivers and dynamics of change management within global environment.
