This paper invites students to develop their own interactive projects that expand their creative practice and challenge conventional boundaries. They will engage with contemporary art and design practices to craft audio-visual installations, explore the rise of interactivity in gaming and Virtual Reality (VR), and create projects that blend multiple media formats into immersive experiences. Throughout the semester, the students will reflect on the concept of (im)possible spaces (environments that challenge the notions of spaces and places within virtual worlds) and experiment with techniques such as animation and incorporation (e.g., creating avatars with integrated VFX/SFX). Using professionally recognised game engines and hardware (VR headsets, motion capture suits), they will learn to design interactive experiences with minimal programming skills required. To strengthen intermedia literacy, the students will also produce a visual book (a portfolio-style document) that showcases the complexity of the virtual environments and highlights creative processes, blending virtual and tangible spaces through print.
