Parking Service

The Parking Service ensures that University of Waikato parking areas, roads, footpaths and other locations are used in accordance with safe parking practice, as well as providing a number of specific services as listed below.

Safe Walk

UniSafe is available to walk you to and from your vehicle if you feel vulnerable. This service extends to the University boundaries and does not include walking or driving people to home addresses or private car parking facilities outside the campus. Call +64 7 838 4444 to arrange and allow 10-15 minutes notice for this service.

Te Tutei Mataara | UniSafe

The University is committed to keeping students safe, in an environment of safety and respect. The UniSafe team is responsible for parking on campus, lost property and emergency preparedness. Call Police to report any suspicious activity on campus.

Property Services is tasked with the overall stewardship of all University facilities and represents the University in all matters relevant to property ownership, leasing, Resource Management Act and Building Act obligations. 

Property Services provides best-in-class services that effectively manage the University's corporate estates portfolio and create an environment that strongly supports the operational and strategic goals of the University.

Property Services is broadly responsible for maintaining the:

Facilities Operations

Facilities Operations is a support service with special responsibility for ensuring technical safety, staff and student comfort, advising on solutions for internal environmental conditions. We respond to urgent repairs and emergencies seven days a week.

Emergencies and Fire evacuations

In the event of an evacuation or fire emergency, wardens will help clear and check University buildings. Find out more about our procedures and our regular trial evacuations.
