This paper introduces foundational academic skills to support students in successfully completing their undergraduate studies. Students will develop core competencies in academic communication and evidence-informed practice within health, sport, and exercise science. The paper covers academic integrity, evidence-based information and digital literacy, introduction to research methodology, and basic quantitative and qualitative data interpretation. It also examines how cultural worldviews, including Kaupapa Māori and Pacific approaches, inform research and practice.
