Event management has no single required path at Waikato, but "event manager" level roles typically sit above entry-level event planning or coordination work.

A Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Communication builds the foundational marketing and promotional skills this career depends on, with a Bachelor of Global Studies suiting those focused on arts or cultural events specifically. Most people build hands-on event experience in coordinator or assistant roles first, before progressing into a manager-level position.
