Organisational psychologists
- usually work regular business hours
- usually work in offices and may travel locally and nationally
- may do emotionally demanding work
- need to be responsible, organised and communicate well
Tasks
- research workplace behaviour and environments
- help people solve work problems
- develop social or economic research methods
- test how people move and think
- collect information from people
- develop education programmes
- talk to clients to exchange information
- explain psychology to people and organisations
- prepare scientific reports and presentations
How can you become an Organisational psychologist?
You need more than one qualification to become an organisational psychologist.
You need
- a bachelor's degree in psychology OR a graduate diploma in psychology
- a Postgraduate Diploma in Organisational Psychology
- a master's degree in psychology OR a doctoral degree in psychology
- an Annual Practising Certificate from the NZ Psychologists Board
- to pass a police check
